Dedicate This Month to God

In my neighborhood and literally in millions of others in our country and around the world, a trend starts toward the middle of September to accent and prepare for Halloween through the month of October. I recall many years of treating this time casually, as fun for parents and young children, participating in Trick or Treat, dressing up in costumes, going from house to house. Back in the day this was a fairly innocuous activity.

According to Google, Halloween, a contraction of All Hallows’ Eve, is a holiday observed yearly on October 31, the evening before All Saints’ (or All Hallows’) Day. The celebration marks the day before the Western Christian feast of All Saints and initiates the season of Allhallowtide, which lasts three days and concludes with All Souls’ Day.

Where once an innocent emphasis was accepted by virtually everyone, its environment and activities now have gone further down the path of satanism, and evil, and bluntly, it’s wrong.

Our blog this month is shorter than most, but to the point. Halloween is not what it used to be. Danger to children is higher, and the so-called “glorification” of this time does absolutely nothing to promote the God who created us who is the God we serve if we are part of the Christ-followers community.

Let’s change the emphasis. Let’s completely alter our activity. Deny Satan and all he represents. Replace him with love from the Lord where, according to Philippians 4:8 (NKJV), we should concentrate on higher and better things. The Apostle Paul wrote:

“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”

Celebrating Halloween is or can be a denial of what God really wants: our hearts, minds, model, example, and testimony to all God has done and is doing.

To assist in a greater understanding, let me introduce you to a brand-new book from Creative Team Publishing, titled: Whatever Is True * Return to Holistic Health. It’s available now for direct order and purchase from www.CreativeTeamPublishing.com.

More, so much more than a concentrated effort to sell books, this new tome is a vital piece of collected information from many who touch on what it means to follow God’s directives instead of diabolical influences. Covered in depth are the fields of truth; politics and the media; health; education; government; what constitutes true purity; what composes true excellence; the Bible definition and explanation of those traits that are worthy of praise; what really is important relating to Values, Vision, Mission, and Message; how attributes, attitudes, and actions are interwoven and inseparable; the importance of choices; and finally, complete and total transformation, change, and an invitation to observe and follow a new direction. Indeed, this new book is all about Renewal and it’s an invitation to Return to Holistic Health in all details of life. This is  a book of Redemption.

So, instead of empty Halloween actions in the month of October, inspire yourself, your children, and grandchildren to concentrate on God. It’s a unique and fresh way of thinking and acting in what is becoming a perverse generation. Follow Philippians 4:8. Allow God to lead in all aspects of living. You and your family can be transformed, eternally.
